Who They Want You To Be
Singled out,,,running as far as i could,
societies pressure to perfection, i just couldn't look,
rather to choose the underdog instead,
to get their label of perfection out of my head,
i did not want to be who they proclaimed,
it hurt me so deeply, it all seemed so fake,
so i ran,
ran as fast as i can,
to the nearest exit to breathe again,
finding you, Lord, in the simple things,
in that freedom to worship you, my heart can sing,
in the quiet, i feel you there,
my heart can breathe again, you are my air.
