Who Is This

WHO IS THIS? Lowing in the dark, dank abode, While the young girl, her baby did hold, The cattle moved as in rhythmic sway, To the gentle rocking from these two on the hay; Who is this that has come to them? She hummed a lullaby as she nestled HIM! They moved with a slow, gentle touch, Amidst a glow that said so much! Who is this that brought them such peace? Who is this their wonder increased? Such authority, garnished this child, As HE lay with HIS mother so mild! And still, today, these questions are asked: Who is this that has come at last? Who is this to us that has come? Whose peace, as a lullaby, is hummed? Will you, HIS gentle touch receive? Will you let HIS glow in you believe? Who is this, you say? Ask HIM and HE will stay! E. Self 2014
