Who Is Like You
Who is Like You?
Who can be compared to you,
Our God of Might and Splendour
Of justice, wisdom, uprightness
And love which is so tender
Who can offer you advice
Or correct you in your ways?
Or amount for themselves more knowledge
Or equal you in days?
There is no other who knows tomorrow
Before its hour has come
That can bestow a blessing on earth
That satisfies everyone
None but you can raise the dead
From the ground in which they lie
And nurse them back to perfect health
Never more to die.
Despite all these abilities and qualities most grand
There is no hint of pride in you
Or the weaknesses of man.
No stubbornness or selfishness, no insistence on being ‘right’
But an incomparable patience, t'ward those that wish to fight.
Your calmness and your confidence
That your word will always prove true,
Draw men and women, young and old
To put full trust in you.
So who is there to compare to you
Our Sovereign Lord Jehovah
The answers clear, there is not one
From now until forever.
