White Roses

roses, roses everywhere bright red and delivered with a crystal vase like our love, flowers opened and bloomed every year since he passed images of white roses fill my dreams on Valentine’s Day symbols of pure love that cannot die

I meant to let you know how touch I am by this poem...but the dang poetry butted in and took over! The little "comment" or piece below, came straight from my higher conscious, but truly was FULLY inspired by the poem you wrote here. For some reason, only my right eye teared up. It does that sometimes when my big burly man EGO tries it's very best to hold back tears. YOU GOT ME WITH THIS ONE CAROLYN!!!ya really did. thank you for sharing something so very special! Woah. and wow.

some of the best poetry is written in pain in love lost.... upon mountains of misunderstanding stuck in valleys of death midnight hallways blacken pages there, in a dust cloud of confusion, we write our way out of corners we had otherwise been painted into... somehow a breath of resilience wakes our bones, our feet; and we see again. and then all is not well ... yet better still

He was such a romantic guy, wasn't he? I've only ever bought Sue a red rose once, in a pub - I gave it to her and its head promptly fell off. Then we had a row about how much I'd spent on just a thorny stem, LOL.

This is purely a beautiful write Carolyn! I love the pure heart that you shared with the significant other, red roses while together...those of love, and white roses while apart...those of pure love! I see the beauty in that, wonderful! Awesome Work!!
