White Pain
White is not an opaque color
It seemed to shimmer incandescent figures under the eve of light
A foreshadowing
Pain is the white that compliments your wedding dress
Tying the knot
Knowing you’ll be bound to it forever
Pain can be held and walked hand in hand down the aisle with
Your maid of honor
White
It’s the color that infests your eyes and hair and face
Starting with empty thoughts and eraser shavings caught in the bouquet
Making your solid black outlines a mere grey
White may not be opaque
But you succumb to the transparency
While the pain fills the void your tears left
Pain loves to linger
Because it’s no stranger it feels like it belongs
Pain is loyal
It never forgets to white out all the right dates and remember to walk you home.
Don’t let Pain overstay its welcome
It’ll burrow a home into your head and kick out Calm and Cool
It’ll bond with Hate behind your back
But it’s not like that’s unknown
What a horribly manipulative thing Pain is
But without it in your life
What is home?
