Whispers of Love

I thought I heard you utter my name So gentle a whispered refrain Near to my ear this early dawn Now fully awakened by my alarm Remember.... Rain drenched, we made tree shelter as it poured Gently you stroked my hair from my eyes Whispering words of love I adored Many happy years have passed, how time flies Remember..... So close, even our breathing was in sync When your protective arm encircled me Whispering words of love our fingers interlinked Our love transparent for all to see Remember...... Our honeymoon spent at Niagra Falls Sipping champagne cocktails, I whispered your name Not much sightseeing as I recall Do you remember it as the same Remember....... My darling boy there cannot be any other Only you in my heart as a flickering flame I lie beside you on your hospital cover Whisper, if you can dear, my Christian name.
