I have come to realize that my greatest error lies in constantly prioritizing others' needs over my own, as a people pleaser.

In the quiet moments when the world is still, I've seen you crying, I've witnessed your will. Tears that fall like gentle rain, I've stood beside you through joy and pain. I've seen you in moments of deep despair, Shouldering burdens, it seems so unfair. Yet, I've witnessed your laughter, a melody, Echoing through moments when your spirit is free. I'm always here for you, a steadfast friend, Through every twist and turn, until the very end. But in the shadows where my own tears may fall, Who'll be there for me, to answer my call? Who'll see me when the skies are gray, Support me when I lose my way? In the silent chambers of my heart's plea, I wonder, dear friend, who'll be here for me? Life's journey is shared, yet a solitary ride, I've been your confidant, always by your side. Now I ponder, in this silent plea, Who'll be here for me, as I am for thee?

I absolutely agree about that Tom, helping others is something I really like. Yet, I once heard this quote, "For once, I really want to be the poem, and not the poet." It clearly describes my idea.

Never make anyone a priority when you are only an option in their life... learn to love yourself and put yourself first sometimes also... people who have low self esteem or have been through pain are normally people pleasers... you can be that, but always be assertive and do not let people treat you badly... yes lifes journey is shared, but you are never alone.. there is always people there for you to lean on..

If they leave you then they are not real friends and are not worth having... You will find over time your friendship group will change...

Your words are really thought-provoking. I'm just scared that if I prioritize myself before others, they'll leave me. I don't want to do anything that may make them leave. I guess I should learn to care less about others. Thanks Silent One.
