While You Were Sleeping
I tucked all the kids in bed
Read them nighttime stories
Laughed, smiled and played with them
And hugged them good night
I woke up every morning, woke my angels up
Prepared breakfast, fed our angels
Got them ready, and got them to school on time
Smiled and hugged them good day
I went to my third job
I the mommy, I the daddy
And tried to get home in time to welcome our kids
Got dinner ready, did homework,
Baths and showers
Laughed, smiled and played with them
And hugged them as much as I could
Because you chose to be gone
My bond with my kids, our kids
Grew stronger every hug.
