Where Were You
Where were you when you heard the news?
Going to work, already at school?
That one moment when the world changed,
When time stood still, and fear turned to hate.
The boom of heavy hearts, masked the crumbling towers,
The tears in their torrents fell like April showers.
The chaos, the debris, the pain and the fear,
Killing the mothers, fathers, children and friends held dear.
14 years gone, the pain is still real,
For those left behind, the scars will never heal.
Never forget the brave who went in to save them,
The flames and the destruction were nothing to them.
Where were you when you heard the news?
