Where the River Meets the Sea

What would I give to get a glimpse of your smile to have and to hold your heart for a while I want to meet you where the river meets the sea Leave your oars behind Set the barrier down and sail away with me. We'd sail away together to wherever the wind blows To our souls'velveteen gardens where blushed crimson bleeds its rose. We'd sail away forever to a secluded land I curl within your arms and hold on to your hand We'd lay on autumn's blanket Watch seagulls soar up high Flutterin'their wings above blue waters 'neath a mandarine sunset sky. What would I give to feel your fingertips brushing sand between my toes To taste your honey-dew breath as the moonlit cradle glows But,here I walk upon the sidewalk Each footprint leading home Under an antique street-lamp Standing on my own. And here I am singing a love song My shadow dancing free And there you stroll along the river-bank so far away from me.
This is a Re- repost( Its a poem I've posted here few years ago..and then reposted.. I re-repost it guess for the last time..for those who haven't read it yet...plus there is always a line to revise along the way. :)

I love the line "My shadow dancing free" I imagination dancing among the stars -- uninhibited, wild, carefree but yet gentle -- striving to get back to a lost love! Well done Ms. Chircop!

Wow, or should I write...sigh. This is absolutely beautiful Charmaine. The love and desire in this poem is soft and will touch many hearts as it has mine. This one speaks to me as distance is the enemy of my heart. I especially adore these lines, We'd lay on autumn's blanket Watch seagulls soar up high Flutterin'their wings above blue waters 'neath a mandarine sunset sky." You have painted such a mesmerizing picture with your words, you have swept me to this place and it is beautiful.
