Where the Rainbow Ends

Often I dream of better days Where it was not so hard to cope A place where there is peace of mind And the streets are full of hope The anger that I feel inside With days of being stressed The hurt, the pain, the sorrow Can all be laid to rest A place where I can find that peace Surrounded by family and friends Maybe that is the pot of gold That lies where the rainbow ends.

this is really nice, Vince. I like short lucid poems like these. Thanks for your comment on my blog about your school days. I was the little obedient one in grade school and never really sowed any wild oats, but I was wild in my own little way! Luv, Andrea

Just read your comment on Katherine's Fright Night poem, Vince! Yes, it does evoke images of a political convention. Scary, eh? Love, Carolyn

I think my pot of gold will be found in heaven, Vince. We probably won't live long enough to see "streets...full of hope" and peaceful surroundings. You and your son have been going through such a rough time. Thank you for sharing his experience with the "apparition" of his grandfather in the hospital. I do believe our loved ones who passed away are still here in spirit to offer guidance and compassion. Love, Carolyn

Vince; How refreshing it is to have a political discussion when a person with a different point of view actually considers your argument. I too, am a disabled Viet Nam vet, (Army infantry) and I share your beliefs. We may not agree on everything but we do have a common enemy, that being the very wealthy, who are controlling the media and every other aspect of our society. Thank you for your honesty! By the way, I like this poem!

I don't know if its the pot of gold so to speak but look at the colors, you cannot believe the beauty in our families, and well, at times it is hard in the world we live in NOT to get stressed out. I really enjoyed reading your work this morning. Thanks, God bless you and your family, Cindy aka Lucinda, been like, forever since I read your work. You were the first one I had the deepest repect for here at the soup. Sincerely, Cindy
