Where Poets Go
Where Poets go?
Theory has it they go to hell,
only to return.
Tempered by flames
unfelt by others,
forged with a tensile strength,
imbued with a resiliency,
accepting without acquiescence
their solitary existence.
Rumor has it they are spawned
in an unknown chamber
offspring of a discordant muse -
seeking order.
Speculation leads many
to believe them fanciful dreamers –
helplessly suspended –
in the sleep state of words.
Conspiracists claim
they are the echoes of
the word of God -
reverberating –
in that place
Where Poets Go.
