Where I'M From

where I'm from it'll never be peace . where I'm from bodies drop everyday . on every corner its a blessing to make it through the day . everyone hoping and praying that no no takes you out the game . the place where you have to say be safe just to end the day . A gun man with the eye of red . Not really caring if their hurting kids. young teens die before they get a chance to make it out . no one really gets a chance to make their mothers jump and shout. As the rose crumbles. You know its a different soul. It could never be fixed. Because of all the tiny holes . Where i come from singing and rapping only get you out . But not where you wanna be . Because society defines everything you inspire to be . But a little girl lived on the fourth floor. She believed there could be change in what they called the hood. She believes that where she's from it will no longer inspire who she wants to be due to society. She knows that now kids will live past the age of twenty three. where I'm from I was raised to care . I care about the people around me even if they don't care about me . When I was twelve . I saw a man get gunned down . Yeah it shocked me for life. But I think its time to move on now . Where I'm from I think its time to wipe the plate clean. And be united as the city we inspire to be.
