Where Echoes Hide
I asked the wind from whence it blew
And where it now was going to
The wind's reply was just a sigh
As through the trees it went whooshing by
I asked the rain from whence it came
And if it called the clouds by name
The rain's reply was just a plop
As puddles formed with each raindrop
I asked the river if it knew
Why to sea it must flow to
The river's reply was just a gush
As to the sea its waters rushed
I asked the thunder if it could decide
What sound to make when atoms collide
The thunder's reply was amplified
As in the clouds its echoes hide
