Where Dreams Go To Die
Hope plucks rainbows from the sky,
remembering times long past.
For engraved on days gone by,
forever memories last.
Seeing you with another
is tearing my heart apart.
For more than any other,
I trusted you with my heart.
Despite your wrath and disdain,
I crave what my heart misses.
And tears trickle down like rain,
watching you exchange kisses.
Beset with anguish, I stare;
as you slowly shut the door.
And imagine it's me there,
safe within your arms once more.
It feels like life's gone to hell;
ever since you said goodbye.
For my heart's an empty shell;
a place where dreams go to die.
