Where Do I Put My Tears
I put away your picture in a trunk beneath the stairs.
I couldn't keep it near me since you no longer care.
It holds so many memories of things we shared for years.
Yes, I put away your picture, but where do I put my tears?
I put away the letters I've held on to so long.
I put away the records of all our special songs.
I've given up the pleasure of having you so near.
I found a place for everything, but where do I put my tears?
-- Chorus --
Where do I put these tears that live on a faded love?
How can I forget the things that I am fondest of?
Where can I put a lifetime of memories so dear?
But, most of all, please tell me where do I put my tears?
I stored away some heartaches that came each now and then.
I put them with the broken dreams of things that should have been.
I let you take the comfort that used to calm my fears.
I wish someone could tell me just where do I put my tears?
-- repeat chorus --
Where do I put these tears that live on a faded love?
How can I forget the things that I am fondest of?
Where can I put a lifetime of memories so dear?
But, most of all, please tell me where do I put my tears?
