I saw a dragon flying overhead In fascination watched him flap his wings Then suddenly, he was a thoroughbred Whose smokey breath came out in giant rings How gracefully clouds play as they change shape At times it seems they silently collide Lost in imagination, I escape Down in the turn we dove to the inside Just for one second we were in the lead Time stopped as we raced t'ward the finish line But then that cloud changed to a centipede Out for a sunny stroll in summertime The clouds are filled with fun and mystery Their beauty lies within simplicity Sept 20- 2018 by Daniel Turner Beautiful Mystery

You have captured what I would think every human being sees and thinks, at least from time to time, if not often. Well done!! Best wishes, Gershon

Love this one, Danny. I'm always watching the clouds and dreaming too and I have started a sketchbook of what I see in them. This poem is such a nice tribute to those shape-changing forces of nature.

A lovely, well-written Sonnet, Daniel! I enjoyed reading this because it brought back memories of a large angel-cloud we witnessed in the sky over my childhood home when I was young, and how real it looked...but eventually morphed into something else. Congratulations on your nice win! Sandra :)

This is really great Danny, would have placed higher, but the imperfect rhyme in the final couplet caused a slight drop, thanks for your entry and congrats on a fine placement!

I absolutely love this DT. I just wrote one about the clouds I saw the other day that looked like waves. The formations can take us away in our minds watching them. Well written with a great ending! :)
