Where Are You
Someday the angels will fall to their knees
Singing for anyone who will listen
But today the martyrs are too busy
With so many other voices to hear them
Where are you?!
Where are you now?!
Forty years multiplied by the pain
Of a history you’ve let befall us
We’re still wandering through the desert
Still waiting for you to save us
Where are you?!
Where are you now?!
Glorify the tales of the righteous son
Pretending the hero came to our rescue
More than irony that the very thing he once molded
Became the instrument of his demise
His lesson was more than just forgiveness
Where is he?!
Where is he now?!
Maybe this is hell
Maybe this is the hell
We’ve made his heaven to be
Your religions are a cancer
And it’s eating away at your eyes
Burn a goat and pray to the east
It just doesn’t matter
IT DOESN’T MATTER!
They got it wrong!
We’ve got it wrong!
And where are you now?!
