When You Were Mine
When you were mine the sky was deepest blue
And sunsets had a more resplendent hue
When you were mine the stars did scintillate
The wind’s caress like yours would titillate
When you were mine, the flowers were in bloom
The sovereign sun left not a trace of gloom
And mistress moon beguiled with moonlit beams
Our passion bathed our soul in gushing streams
When you were mine each night was magic filled
Sweet love we’d make until our souls were thrilled
Fulfillment brought with it our grateful tears
A testament to love that cast out fears
When you were mine, embodiment of love
You were my hope of heaven up above
I never knew such bliss could truly be
But now I’m lost, for you are not with me
