When You Vote
When you go to the polls to vote,
Have knowledge of your candidate choices.
Each voter must have education and hope;
Now people constitutionally, do have voices.
You will make a difference,
Once you do your homework.
Under your arm keep your references.
Vote for whom you feel will do no harm;
One whose past proves that they care.
They can’t be money hungry liars or jerks;
Each must be truly honest and fair.
Vote out corruption; vote in change,
Once you pull that lever remember,
The vote cannot be changed;
Education is necessary; it’s a voter-keeper.
With research on the candidates,
In a library or online;
The truth will out itself to fate,
Have courage and this you’ll find.
Collections of their legislation,
Online and in libraries reference section;
Libraries keep this information,
Look carefully at this collection.
Each voter must vote responsibly;
Carefully do your research and;
Take my suggestions;
In reference sections of libraries,
One gets answers to their questions.
Never vote until with wisdom you are armed.
Should you vote without education, everyone gets harmed.
Often people vote
For their party, only.
Educate yourself,
Don’t be a dummy;
Unless you hate yourself,
Come to the library and study.
And you’ll be armed with
This powerful knowledge
Instead of ignorant bliss
One can go to college
Now education’s where you find it.
Armed with your defense kit;
New candidates you will win with it;
Don’t neglect preparation; go vote with spit.
Knowing devious candidates are
Now chomping at their bits.
One person can make a difference, go out and share
When everyone’s well aware of these gits;
Legislation that’s corrupt will mince,
Every word a candidate speaks;
Do your part to encourage others of this;
Get them researching the candidates’ snares;
Education prevents you being trapped in a political abyss.
