When You Fall For the Wrong One

I guess I always knew That it was too good to be true That I never really had you in my hand Just a filler, a time killer Just a soft place you could land Not the girl that you’d imagined or had planned But now your ring is on her finger And her name is on your heart And I’m left here with my memories Trying not to fall apart ‘Cause you let me Slip through your fingers You never looked back And you let me, pick up your pieces But I never thought that I’d be the one in pieces When it was over, said and done But I guess that’s just what happens When you fall for the wrong one As crazy as it sounds, I still wouldn’t change a thing I wouldn’t take a moment back from us I don’t regret the moments When you told me everything Won’t forget the side of you That only I know But now your ring is on her finger And her name is on your heart And I’m left here with my memories Trying not to fall apart ‘Cause you let me Slip through your fingers You never looked back And you let me, pick up your pieces But I never thought that I’d be the one in pieces When it was over, said and done But I guess that’s just what happens When you fall for the wrong one It’ll hurt one day, mark my words One day when everything falls apart When she breaks your heart One day you’ll reach for me You’ll see me in your dreams But I’ll be gone I’ll be gone ‘Cause you let me Slip through your fingers You never looked back And you let me, pick up your pieces But I never thought that I’d be the one in pieces When it was over, said and done But I guess that’s just what happens When you fall for the wrong one But I’ll be gone… I’ll be gone…
