When

the

Portal

Appears

It was the last time someone would patronize me Man or woman, for any reason Prayer had led to a new revelation Like walking through a portal To a kingdom where self-worth and courage reign The surge of power was spontaneous Inexplicable in tangible terms Gazing at an illuminated path Intrigue built within I could not change the focus of my fixation Armed only with newfound courage I proceed along the road And navigate through its intense light To a kingdom of harmony and peace When asked about faith Don't hesitate Search in your darkest hours You'll find it at the end of the light January 18, 2020 For John Hamilton’s “Eight Word Challenge”

I love it, Carolyn. So reflective in effulgent wisdom. And so parallel with experiences both my wife and I have had. Please read my poem, "An Open Door." All the best, as you transition from your already premier status to its formalization.

Hi Carolyn courage and faith are so important that we could not live without either one of them - you found the courage and had the faith to go through this portal of light where you found a kingdom of harmony and peace. Always in our darkest hours does our faith reach the highest measure of intensity. I loved this poem Caroline and it has gone into my favs. Blessings and hugs, Jennifer.

When I came to the end of the poem I realized that this was an eight word challenge, Carolyn, but you integrated them in so well that I would not have known the difference. Faith and courage go hand in hand, giving one the strength to reach the desired aim. Love & Hugs // paul

I like your theme of faith and revelation--there's the power in your words of prayer, Carolyn --to see the light through the portal. Divine advise in the ending line my friend. You blended the unrelated words into a cohesive theme seamlessly. All the best.
