We are born not knowing what's ahead
Into a world when wanted or not
Some of us
We grow up living the years given
Some fall like the Autumn leaves
The fortunate of us grow old
Like the fallen, through our years we may grieve

Eventually everyone faces life's decision
In many ways this event can be triggered
For many of us are prepared or not
When our flame no longer flickered
We are born not knowing what's ahead Into a world when wanted or not Some of us are a surprise Though many appeared when thought Many of us grow with love all around Sadly there are ones who are not For this we have to be fortunate They are eternal in their sought We grow up living the years given Some fall like the Autumn leaves The fortunate of us grow old Like the fallen, through our years we may grieve Eventually everyone faces life's decision In many ways this event can be triggered For many of us are prepared or not When our flame no longer flickered http://www.thehighlanderspoems.com/life-17.php

when our flame no longer flickered--- this i think when we chose to stop living... though some diseases cause flames to be flickered but then I believe our flames wil always be like embers if through the years we are existing we live to make ansother life a bit better! they say its not a matter of years but what matters is on how we live those years........ the lines are thought provoking and insightful..~~olive eloisa

I wonder how many would choose to be born if they knew what lay ahead. Wonder why some have it so difficult and others have the silver spoon. Had to think my way through this James, so much to contemplate on.

So wonderful to read your poetry again... So many chapters in life.. at times a flickering flame, other moments a complete darkness... till the candle burns again..Charma
