When My Well Was Dry

Gone were the days when the sky fell on the ground It was on a sunny day I remember, her voice strung out in my sensitivity I rushed to her to know what brought out her worry In her eyes, I saw the fire blazing I picked up the necessary things and rushed her To the hospital. Therein, I could hear the lion roaring In the birthing room My mind awhirl She couldn't deliver the infant She kept calling my name, she wanted my presence in the birthing room The doctor called me in and upon entering, my heart fell on the floor I rubbed my eyes twice to know if hell that I saw was an illusion I thought of the world coming to an end My legs trembled upon the floor I teetered toward the rear They knew that I couldn't bear and sent me out immediately. I didn't even know what to do, should I stand or sit Because I was lost in the elusive world of my thoughts I used my mind to pray The doctor called me in a few minute after and told me she can't Deliver unless they do surgery I did all they told me to do, I tried to cry, but my well was dry A few minute after, the doctor called me back in, What did he want to say... Did she die or what? I mumbled Congratulations sir, your wife delivered the baby without any surgery carry out. 7/31/15 For SKAT contest epic only.

An emotive piece of a very personal harrowing experience. Nothing could be of much importance than your own personal turmoils at a time when both your wife and child are in danger. Goodluck, AM!

This is very good ...it pours out the emotions like thick syrup. The message is well presented and the words mean something, ....something important in the mind of the author! An outpouring of emotions that surges up from the heart and splashes against the page. Emile.
