When My Eyes Close
When my eyes close
and I can longer see
when my mouth shuts
and I can no longer talk
when my ears are deaf
and I can no longer hear
when my legs are weak
and I can no longer walk
My father will give me
Special transport back home
with new eyes, ears, mouth, legs
and with beautiful body
I will sail through the clouds
Guardian angels by my side
rejoicing all the way to heaven
as we sing hallelujah, hallelujah
At the gates of God’s palace
I will arrive like a royal child
Peter and I will hug each other
To Jesus’ office he takes me
the heavens will thunder with joy
as Jesus enthrones me
On special seat prepared
for ages as I worked on earth
I will sit, relax and rejoice
With God and all saints in heaven
And my soul shall sing
Hallelujah, hallelujah forever
