When Love Reckons For a Second Time

You swept me away into the depths of our own island, I was young and in love yet craved independence for my life- Six years passed and you offered me a beautiful diamond, for you had always longed for me to be your beloved wife. Returning a sacred gift was the hardest thing I’ve had to do, I spent nights wondering if I had made the right choice- I moved far away and thought it would be easy to forget you, but without my soulmate my spoken verses had no voice. He proposed to me after 6 years of dating. I was 21 and so young. I returned the ring, moved out of state then realized he was my soulmate after all. So I proposed to him this time.
