When Kids Go Wrong

What are we suppose to do, when our kids that we love - turn out wrong? We gave them birth, we gave them love, but somewhere along the line - that was not enough. When the kids are little they step on our toes, but when they grow up - they step on our hearts. What are we suppose to do? As parents; we want the best for them. We want to give them what we didn't have and what we can. We keep them close to us, but they grow up and think that they are their own boss. Not all the kids turn out bad. Some of them give their parents great content and make their parents proud of them. The ones that don't - who do we blame? When they go wrong and we know that we have tought them right, what can we do? Should we just grin and bare it, or just pray for them? They are our kids. We can't just abandon them... I guess for some parents, it gets so bad that they have to abandon them in order to make them touch rock bottom (like kids who become druggies and steal from their own parents). It's a very difficult topic and I'm so thankful my own two did not cause me this pain!! good topic.

A vexing problem Lucilla, sometimes it's the friends they choose that put them off the rails and there's nothing you can do till they see the error of their ways. Your poem will touch many hearts dealing with this enigma. LUv, Lizzie

This made me think of my 24 year old son. When he was 17 he got mad and left home. He hated me for a few years blaming me for everything wrong with himself. But I prayed as you say and made myself available to him, even when he was so mean. He was always a good kid, but they are human and we all fall and fail at some point. He went to college and is an engineer now. He has a huge brick house with 25 acres. He came around but it took some time. Now his life is better than mine Thank God. ;) Red

Great truth that you have penned in this one..Enjoyed reading this eve..Parents and grandparents still love the child that when it gets grown steps on the heart..Praying and trying to understand leads the way for repair to come..I am glad that I chose this one to read today..Thanks for the kind review of my work..Sara

And kids can make you worry, drive you crazy, but you can't help lovin' 'em... Your poem was inspiring! Terry
