When I Was Your Girl

you are the indisputable light which guides me home. i love you, i love you to bits. crumble you up and swallow you whole. the moon, the wind, and the sea, you are the flowers growing at the edge of versailles. bury me deep in your trenches, i want only your hand at night. when the stars are sparkling, you must know they've died a thousand deaths before us, they'll die a thousand more. you aren't kept with time, rather the memories which pull me in. i don't think i'll see the end of you. seasons only change so fast, you are still all that i know.
