When I Think of You
When I think of you
I think of butterflies,
Not just of the obvious beauty
As you flutter by,
But your strength
And fragility
The feelings you evoke
And the lives you have touched
By simply being,
I think of your slowly opening
Reviling, vibrant wings,
Then, of your sudden closing
As if your rainbow should be hidden,
There is no shame in those dark rings
That surrounds the bright
They bring out the color in us
They balance the light.
You were made to fly
Sweet dreamer
But beware the spirit who offers you wings,
For he will snatch away your sky
And leave you aimless,
My dear butterfly,
Who opens and closes so sweetly,
Shake the sleep form your mind
Then fly sweet dreamer
leave all dust behind.
