When I Tell You You Are Beautiful

When I tell you you are beautiful I do not mean pure physicality, The symmetry of your face, The shape of your lips, The shade of your eyes. When I tell you you are beautiful I tell you from the soul of a poet, You are starlight, You are morning dew On the petals of a rose. You are costal sunsets and Christmas morning. You are dawn choruses And balmy summer evenings Serenaded by cicadas. When I tell you you are beautiful I talk of all that you are, But more ... You are beautiful because You allow me to see the world Through the eyes of one who loves, And you show me how To see the beauty in me too.
