A little on the tough side, I know. I'm prone to some moods, and sorry for them.
When I Get Like This
When I get like this,
Try not to run away and hide.
When I get like this,
Remember that I have a better side.
When I get like this,
Remember that this too will pass,
When I get like this,
Remember you're my first and last.
Though I cannot say
What changes make me stray,
What devil burns inside
That steals away my pride
And makes me someone else
No longer know myself,
Know that down within I am still the same
And for whatever deeds I will take the blame.
So when I get like this,
Just put it all on me.
And when I get like this,
Close your eyes and just don't see
That I'm not who I was,
Nor that I want to be,
Just another weak man
Cast adrift at sea.
You need never fear
That my dam will break,
Or my demons lay desolation
In their wake.
I will hold them firm,
I will hold them fast -
Until their fury
Is done and past.
I will never let them reach you my Love
For you are my Angel from Above.
You are the one who holds me sway,
When I stumble in the dark
And lose my way.
So when I get like this ...
When I get like this...
Remember that I'm just a man
Doing everything he can
Not to be the thing that he can't stand -
And just turn away
Wait for the light of day
The beast will skulk away in the night,
And everything will be alright
Just turn away
When I get like this,
When I get - like - this.
