When I Am Old

When I am old I want to dance aglow With the music coming from the radio The steps we take may be only a few But, the"Tennessee Waltz" I'll dance with you-- Hold me close so I can feel your presence Swaying together e'en when out of breath When I am old I would like to discuss All things, anything that brings joy to us Perhaps we'll see a crowd of daffodils In our mind's eye or on the hill for real There may be a shepherd and flock of sheep Crossing a flowing stream from hill so steep When I am old I want to hear laughter, You will enjoy my words as I do yours Building new memories that will endure Whether writing words or painting pictures -- To have these simple things I'd be so blessed Because within my shell lies happiness -E. Thank you for your kind words. I am pleased that you can "feel the nostalgia and love jump(ing) off the page" and Carrie, I hope all of this comes to your life. E. Pearl

Evelyn, this is a very beautiful poem. I can feel the nostalgia and love jump right off the page. I think it has potential to be better. I've read it several times over, and I hope I'm not overstepping my bounds, here is an example.** To dance aglow, when I am old with music coming from the radio It may only be in steps of few the "Tennessee Waltz" I'll step with you ** Just trying to help as I would want others to help me. Thanks for sharing, and I hope I haven't offended you. Tom
