When Evaluating Myself

When evaluating myself The inclination is to pose In best light, of course; You know what I mean- Shifting in the mirror Just right; Hum! Which is My best side today? And if worse comes to worse, There is always Photoshop; The full version Often needed In my Organic case.... How on earth Did we ever image Without computers? I mean, total freedom! The option to go anywhere-- Be anyone or anything; Or dissolve To password obscurity; My hard-drive-soul With trillions of bytes Left, to covet or waste-- Magnetism sunken To new attractive lows; Still-light Only negative Charges-- Here, voices surface: Portraits remaining deeply Obscured For blurred-- Things I wish I could (Wanting to share)-- At the end of the day Garbled by the silence Of Distance Living (Untouched, print-less walls Of my electronic gallery)-- Sights and sounds Only, perhaps, yet Clearly heard By angels And demons Now sunken To man-made hollows, Those fanned Cooling spaces Of a Keyboard Society, Once coveted warmth Our worse enemy....

So much fuss is made about vanity these days, if only we would learn to love ourselves just as we are... I think everyone can relate to the feelings you've expressed here, Joe. Very well written!

Wow, what a timely piece. Metaphorical genius Joe. 'My hard-drive-soul With trillions of bytes' killer lines. An overwhelming 7 +

Nicely done, love the analogies here. Indeed what did we do when all that was seen was us in all of unedited glory?
