When Daddy Died By Curtis Johnson My baby brother Michael was 9 months old My baby sister Linda was 22 months old Mama had 12 kids, and she was 35 I had 7 sisters and 3 brothers at home Mom and dad taught us the golden rule When I was 13, I enrolled in high school Daddy was home now; nursed by mama so tenderly A family friend told my cousin James and me He told us that my daddy had just passed away To reach my home, we ran very fast that day The cloud of death rolled into my dad as he lay I watched the ambulance take my daddy away After his sickness, Daddy ceased to suffer When daddy died, our lives got rougher Shortly after my daddy was set free, my favorite aunt moved away in 1963 cj070407
