When Bad News Calls
When Bad News Calls
A ring can bring the freeze of fear.
A loved one in harm, helplessness.
There falls a crackling atmosphere,
Paralysis like vibrating wires through your being.
Hours and days of anxiety,
Replacing routines and normalcy.
Hand-gripping eves of dark anticipation;
Would that love were not so definitive.
But there is no other way;
No other way desirous.
In the undercurrent lives the river of hope –
Hope of joyful restoration.
