When Angels Deserve To Die

Radiant Beams of sunlight Through A lonely window Puddles Of blood And Mangled bodies Souls A place No sunlight Could ever reach I cry When angels deserve To die Massacre after massacre My tears Have fallen Toxicity Corrupts the foundation Everything Comes crumbling down But Nothing is done To stop it And I am so tired of moments of silence So tired Of being scared To walk out of my house Not knowing If I will become a statistic I cry When angels don't deserve To die But they keep dying And We keep lying And denying The reasons it keeps happening Rain Tap dances across my windowpane Emotionally I am defeated Spiritually I am desecrated Mentally I am defiant I won't cry When angels deserve to die Because I will fight To make sure they never Die again

Ah, Christopher, this is a masterful write. Just this morning I began thinking about how I could address the problem in poetry. I am heartbroken over the tragedy at Uvale, Texas. You have done so admirably, and I thank you for it. Thanks for sharing your poem and your heart.
