Written to be read at my granddaughters mother's celebration of life

When a mom dies a deafening waterfall of tears conceals a sorrowful serenade of wailing souls and the agonizing sound of hearts shattering, not just from the unyielding pain of loss but from the void left in a unique chain of love that tightly held close every person it touched. When a mom dies, a secular kind of love is severed making those nearest to them feel less than whole as if a piece of themselves has forever vanished and all that remains is a strange hurt within that haunts the heart at unique points in time swooping in just long enough to make tears. When a mom dies, sons and daughters yearn for one more day, hour, or minute with mom to say everything, they wished they had said for at these most painful times in our lives it is the weight of all the words unspoken that burdens our souls and tortures our minds until we realize that a mom’s love is infinite and her ability to forgive is boundless.

- I haven't forgotten you, Kim :) - I often think of a poem: It was about a school bus... the driver was going to quit his job... but the children didn't want to say goodbye... was that your poem? (what is it called?) - I have lost both my parents ... held them in my hand, until my last breath ... sad memories ... they will always be missed ... but live in my heart - A lovely poem, Kim :) - A pleasure to see you again :) - hugs

It may be my Unsung Heroes bus driver poem. I myself had a couple of rough years with death. In October of 2021 three days apart in the same hospital my mother and my wife of 35 years passed away. However, I did finally acquire my Masters Degree in Forensic Psychology just this past December. Thanks for the comment and it is great to see you again too Anne-Lise.
