When a Gift Is Expected
When a Gift Is Expected
By Elton Camp
Because of the increasing level of greed
To give gifts, we’re made to feel the need
Some outrageously even go so far as to try
To tell us where and what we should buy
Graduations, weddings, showers, house warning
Demands on our resources becomes alarming
To hint strongly for cash some have the gall
And we are expected to give to one and all
For those who celebrate all of the holidays
Many occasions for gift giving that’ll raise
Suze Orman gives advice that I find very wise
Though gift-seekers most likely will despise
We are under no obligation to give a gift at all
If our finances demand, present one very small
