What's a Friend

Feelings have been hurt and trust has been lost, As a result, people are betraying friendships for a fair cost. Where is the love? What happened to trusting in the man from the great above? Such nasty behavior has been presented in front of me, And now I can’t remember the last time that I’ve been happy. Witnessing these things has been depressing and sad, If you ask me, it’s honestly made me mad. Mad because friends don’t act this way, Friends don’t resemble and distribute this much hate. Friends love one another, flaws and all, And they will ALWAYS be there to catch you when you fall, Dropping any and everything to answer your call, And they’re there to help you when you feel like you can no longer stand tall. Life as well as friendships are a never ending lesson, Lies and truth both being told through what’s suppose to be a “confession,” When deep down no one knows that you live in a state of suppression, Little does any one know that you suffer terribly from depression, But in today’s generation those so called “friends” will constantly leave you second guessing. I could tell you my definition of a friend, But then again, over time the true definition has began to descend, Amazing how a friendship can be ruined by one woman or man, ¬And stupidly enough I’ m always the one who will fight to take a stand. Nowadays people pretend to be your friend, When in reality all they have for you is harmful intentions, Make sure you pay attention and listen, Because a fake person will eventually reveal their true intentions. No one is truly your friend in this chaotic world, Here I stand alone as a true friend and girl.
