What Really Counts In Life
I swore I'd never do it
But in the end I did
I turned out like my parents
Didn't want to as a kid
Some would call it destiny
Others a matter of fate
When I think of what I've become
It's myself I really hate
Its time to break that chain
Put an end to this insanity
Before I see my own kids
End up in this calamity
Genetics plays a big part
But we all have freedom of choice
I wish the children of the world
Could hear the pain that's in my voice
Better to do good from the start
Even if they call you a *****
Chances are when you grow up
You'll be the one who's rich
Rich with a lot of money
And in all the things you do
Cause what really counts in life
No one can given to you
Hold yourself in high esteem
Be kind to your fellow man
Help all others when you can
Be part of God's devine plan
These few words I'll leave to you
To help you in your plight
Be honest in your thoughts and deeds
And always do what's right
