What Once Was

The world was once black, She kept to herself, Not wanting to let anyone in, The only way to protect herself. She fell one to many times, And it always ended in pain, Her heart always broken, And no one there to ease it. Till one day, She woke up, And was determined, To keep smiling. She let go, For once and all, Let the happiness come, And her future began. She was determined to be happy, So she decided to take a chance, And she slowly started to see, This time things might be different.
