What Mercy
Judgment before mercy stoops
as tears flow mingled with praise.
The face once creased smooths with love;
rumbling thunder drops down rain
soothes patched earth etched by folly.
Cry, praise when the heart aches, dry;
crawl and groan and moan, not let,
only mercy pleads for grace.
