What Love

She gazed at me with sexy brown eyes, Evidently exhibiting her infinite love, But it pains me 'cause I'm telling lies, That one day we shall fly high like a dove, I pity her deluge of immense affection, My vow to take her to the coveted promised land, Was just but a mere illusion, Strong passion was lost in the whirlwind, Sadly we will never be an item, My heart is confined to elsewhere, The ring in my finger is the emblem, Of the assertion I'm bound to adhere, And as you declare your love as candid, Regrettably I can't give a reciprocal, Though our friendship remains splendid, Deep inside it's so ironical
