What Little Remains

I finally found the love I had been searching my entire life for, and as I look at the clock, the minutes ticking away, a second hand taunting me, hours making faces watching my life fading day by day My old heart breaks because I know I will die lonely wondering why I didn’t find her sooner and why I can’t have her now that I have for what little remains… of me

Beautiful poem, Chris. Very emotionally rich in angst and soulful yearning. I guess I'm the outsider here on this one, because I don't look at it w/sad eyes. I see it the other way around. As you get closer to death's door, the door to eternity gets nearer too. And if you and that loved one believe the same way, they you will see other forever. That's just little ole romantic me. Lovely poem though. Much love, bruh.

Thanks my friend, it's really not so much about dying as it is finding that special love a little too late in life. You know the old saying, if only I had met you sooner.

This really tugs at the heartstrings! Such a sad write but makes me realize I have to live in the moment and treasure every second.

So sad Chris. One must never give up or give in to events, when not knowing what is ahead in time left.

Such is life manytimes....but there is a reason for the plan in our lives..We are short-sighted at times..and see feel only loss..Not realizing the big picture might be more beautiful than not having her at all.Am touched.
