What It Takes to Make a Change
Heroes seldom plan
What to do when chaos strikes;
Courage does not come
In such mannered spurts and spikes.
Evil sits and waits
To attack when all is calm.
Scattered are the sheep
When the wolves evoke such qualm.
Heroes simply leap
When their instincts call to fight.
Heroes do what’s good,
Even when good’s not in sight.
Heroes are not born,
They are burned and purged by fire.
Villains likewise burn,
But are hardened to conspire.
We’d be heroes too
If our hearts would rearrange,
Motives that prevent
What it takes to make a change.
