What It Takes To Love

You said our love’s forbidden A story between us that’s never written A love so great but constantly hidden Soft like a kitten, You’ll only purr for attention A beautiful strong woman, did I fail to mention? I’ll love you for today I loved you twice yesterday I’ll cry for you tomorrow For your love will soon sail away I refuse to say goodbye So, I’ll cry for you each day Midnight lovers, I’ll call us For the moon was our bed And the earth was our cover The stars were the lights That guided us to each other A friendship we built A love we discovered Things we felt We should’ve shared deeply Now I know the cost of love And the price it takes to lover her
