What Is a Dad

Blood runs thicker than water they say But blood can clot and halt Water runs generously and feeds life to all around it, This is what it is to be a dad. A father gives gifts to make up for his absence A dad gives his time and is there. A father expects his title for all he does A dad earns it by what he does. A father demands respect for all he does A dad deserves it. A father needs recognition for all the things he does, A dad needs his children. Blood runs thicker than water they say And now you see it's true A father thinks about his children But with a dad, they are in all that they do.
