What I Learned From Old Music

While downloading some music a thought crossed my mind, of things that I learned in the past when playing old music in various formats which, sadly, were not meant to last. I learned concentration when using a biro to untangle a music cassette, and patience when searching my reel-to-reel for a song whose place I would forget. And keeping my hand steady, breathing quite slowly, thus making my body relaxed, when lowering the stylus on my record player to land at the start of a track. So my patience, control and nimbleness of finger I've held up to the present day, while all the young 'uns who want everything now, have missed out on these joys- Just press 'Play'.

GREAT parody . Yeah, weren't those the "good" old day?? But I do kind of miss my record player. CLEVER and just the right size of poetry to keep my interest. Loved this.

ha ha ....back then the learning curves were steeper with whole body involvement....LOL We still have old Super 8 reels we have been lugging around everywhere from here to Australia and back....precious memories but not sure if the projector will still crank up. So well written Thanks for the dig to do something about them. I have missed reading you. SuZ

- When I studied, I read onto the cassette ... listened over and over again ... very useful :) - But when it went wrong with the tape, o.m.g. (###) ! .... what a mess :))) - (use a pen like Tom says ... and lots of patience :) - Nice memories, Viv - hugs // Anne-Lise :)

Oh I remember them well up until quite recently hubby used to 'mend' tapes for manx blind welfare - now the books are on MP3. Vinyl is coming back and my old 'nokia' phone is now trendy so who knows about cassettes. Hubby recently transferred videos on son onto disc's - made me sad to see so many on the film now no longer with us - precious memories:-) hugs Jan xx

Joys lol, them cassettes' nearly went out the car window a few times, and we all had a pen that fitted the hole on the cassette perfectly, how we've moved on in a short space of time. Now I've got hundreds on an mp3 as big as your thumb. Tom.
