What Happened?

A boy the age of 5 or 6 sits in the corner of his room with his protector, his blankie. He can hear his parents, again they're fighting, this is one of the worse ones yet. Things are being thrown, people being hit. Then a loud crash, then silence, nothing is said. Someone leaves and doesn't return. The boy waits, waits for his mother to come and comfort him, she never does. He goes slowly to the door afraid of what's there, preventing his mother from coming. He opens the door and sees something. Something in the corner, slumped over, lifeless. The police come, the neighbors called, to find the boy with his mother, and his blankie. Scared of not knowing, what happened, happening or what is going to happen.
