What Dawn Promises

Even while we sit here waiting intimations of a new dawn are beginning to cut through the shadows Trouble, violence and uncertainty will surely fade when light cuts through the clouds Dawn promises many things Above all a brighter future then we dared hope for After every evening the blood - red sun rises It's rays cause us to pulse with renewed life The land awakens A new day has come! We can rejoice now! After a taste of death We arise once more!

Great way to express a sunrise the opportunity to live a new day refreshed.I enjoyed reading your work today.I am sure that the city offers much that one could write about in a Haibun form.Even though the lights block out a night sky one can look at other items of nature about which to write.Probably just a few miles in one of the four directions could open up a door to see the night sky.I don't get to see it much early to bed. Thanks for the visit to my page and for taking time to comment.Sara

It sounds like a very promising dawn, Matt. As for your egg whites and tomato, that does not sound good to me!! The green smoothie I have each day is nice, but it's really not my kind of food. I will always long for junk food even when I am eating healthy!!
